Whoever is happy will make others happy too.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 9, 2013
The town of Dighton is currently seeking community members interested in serving on the Dighton Cultural Council. There are at least 3 vacancies on the council that need to be filled.
The Dighton Cultural Council is part of a grass-roots network of 329 local councils that serve every city and town in the state. The program is the largest, most decentralized one of its kind in the United States. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each local council.
Previous grants awarded by the council have included support of Little Folks Theatre, programs and passes at Dighton Public Library, entertainment at Prime Time/Council on Aging, Music at the Cow Chip Festival, D-R school fireld trips and many others local events and programs.
This is a volunteer position. The council meets 1 to 2 times a year on a week night in the Fall.
